This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best EPs ever released. This time, Lana furthers in the American culture she likes so much and tells a story of the journey of the people who wanted to try their fortune in Hollywood, the good, the bad and the ugly. Alongside, she released Tropico, a brilliant short-film with an excellent cinematography and photography. In less than 30 minutes, it summarizes perfectly what Paradise is all about: The trip starting with the idolization of Hollywood, the realization of the terrible place it really is and how can root you, and the purgatory, where you purify from all your sins and the final ascension to Heaven. Finally I cannot not write about the iconic Ride video clip, her beautiful way with words makes an outstanding monologue that captures her feelings of wanting to make her life a work of art, experience the best life can bring and live to the fullest perfectly. A lifestyle very inspired by thins mantra of "Live fast, die young and leave a beautiful body". Ride is the best anthem to freedom.
Paradise is the perfect addition to the Born To Die era to crown it as one of the best things pop culture ever experienced.

I don’t know any other artist that have an ep with such quality, with bangers after bangers. This is a journey, and an amazing one.

Simplesmente amo as faixas desse EP. A forma como ela consegue nos levar para o glamour e algo mais leve ao mesmo tempo intenso é sensacional.

I am honestly so in love with Lana’s work in this album. She has such a diverse range of expressing love and passion. This is her best album of work yet. Her song Ride is a masterpiece. A real queen who speaks her own truth and doesn’t need anyone else to explain her story- respect. Expand

Paradise é como uma preparação depois do born to die, mas mesmo com poucas faixas consegue ser gigante e faz isso muito bem

Compared to her other works, this one come out as very weak. Not bad, but definitely not her best work, still I love her imagery alluding to heaven and stuff, no thoughts just vibes.

Born to Die's highlights are both slightly more numerous and slightly more effective--but it's still a very strong, successful record, whether taken as an addition or a follow-up.

Though she makes a few knowingly meta nods to her own rep, Paradise leans too hard on the same tired drowsy-Lolita poses. [23 Nov 2012, p.70]

Once you accept that Lana knows exactly what she's doing--that she, not Interscope Records or any of her co-producers, is the architect behind this R-rated retro-pop fantasy--then maybe you'll start loving her, too.
