Exitmusic spends this record convincing you it can make a big noise, and of that there is no doubt. At times, that big noise is quite impressive, and the nuanced layers that make it up do indeed evoke emotions, take you somewhere. Unfortunately, too much of Passage opens up doors-big, gaping ones-that don't ever lead anywhere.

Most of these songs would make for a devastating end to an emotionally charged, disturbed album. But ten songs like that in a row?

I saw them live and was blown away. They are like a perfect blend of Radiohead, Beach House, and Sigur Ros, drawing the best from each. For the last few months this has been my favorite album of 2012. I keep trying to find any better and it hasn't happened. If you like truly moving, epic, beautifully crafted music, check this out. It doesn't grow old. The only contenders at the moment are Lost and the Trees and Lower Dens. Which are insanely good as well. Buy this is you like music that moves you and you will be pleasantly surprised. Full Review »
