Although memorable hooks are few and far between... there's no denying the album's ferocity. [Mar 2005, p.132]

The band's brand of anti-melody, two-chord thrash... is starting to feel punishingly stale. [28 Jan 2005, p.84]
  3. Unlike previous recordings like 2003's Get Yer Body Next ta Mine, Coachwhips covet a reliable, freight train approach and derail.

Seven's about right for the coachwhips. They do the raw garage rock better than anyone I know, and it's a blast listening to an Seven's about right for the coachwhips. They do the raw garage rock better than anyone I know, and it's a blast listening to an album this full of intensity and grit. But on the flip side, their songs sound pretty similar. They throw blues into the mix, which I usually don't like, but they pull it off a lot better than other bands I know who do this, and the rhythm section will pulverize you. So, a 9 or 10 for rocking me like no other, but if you want amazing and diverse song writing, I can see why some of the reviewers are pissed. Full Review »
