The band trusted Crowe to choose the tracks for the soundtrack, and Crowe came through in spades.

Twenty years and counting, Pearl Jam are still the kings. [Sept 17 2011, p.51]

All great bands evolve throughout the years, but what Pearl Jam Twenty shows is how they managed to grow out of their grunge beginnings without ever losing sight of it.

It makes for a rambunctious rock'n'roll record. [Nov 2011, p.94]

Pearl Jam was typecast as the corporate pretenders to Nirvana's punk darlings in the Seattle hierarchy circa 1991, but they've not only endured but grown as a band--a case concisely made by the Pearl Jam 20 soundtrack.

The soundtrack to the film--which contains that "Better Man"--is for those hardcore fans. There's no "Jeremy," "Daughter" or "Even Flow" here.

The soundtrack to PJ20 is not for them, it's for those who have stuck with the group through thick and thin, through any number of new drummers, and they'll certainly find much that rewards their fandom here.

I agree almost entirely with DaGuruDette. Having just watched the Cameron Crowe Doc., I'd say save this setlist for watching the DVD/Bluray.

Decent list of songs with a few surprises but if you have been a fan like myself and unlike shrimp since the start, you have 100+ live albumsDecent list of songs with a few surprises but if you have been a fan like myself and unlike shrimp since the start, you have 100+ live albums etc from this band already. Many years ago they left little fans did not already have. Guess this can act as their ride off into the sunset. Expand
