Plain Rap - The Pharcyde
Plain Rap Image
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 6
  2. Negative: 0 out of 6
  1. While the heft of the Pharcyde sound is diminished slightly by their broken circle, this is an emotionally tangible album that combines delicate content with tight production.
  2. Their flows are slower, their observations more profound, and their subject matter drifts further inward. [#154, p.83]
  3. Plain Rap lacks the talents of Fatlip and Slimkid and it shows. The smart, polished Pharcyde backings - rich in jazz and rare groove - are still in evidence, but it's easy to miss the gawky verbals of all four rappers.
