  • Summary: The first album in four years for Kurt Heasley and his band continues his fixation with all things British.

  3. Negative: 0 out of 7
  1. Fans who have stayed with the band this long will probably find the album a breath of fresh air.
  2. Ultimately, Precollection probably isn’t the kind of release to greatly expand its influence over the throngs of the unconverted, but it should be more than a welcome advance for those already convinced of Heasley’s obviously remarkable gifts.
  3. An impressive, mature effort that expands a predictable Brit-pop sound into something with varied textures, shades and nuance.
  4. Alternative Press

Another genre-bending album full of scavenged sounds. [July 2003, p.113]
  5. It's rather spotty (both in production and songwriting) and unfocused.
  6. There probably won't be another piece of music like it this year. But then, maybe there shouldn't be.
  7. Magnet

A batch of 10 songs you really need to spend some time with to appreciate. [#59, p.97]
