Classic. I think 10-20 years from now, Saddiq well be a Curtis Mayfield or Isaac Hayes.

Clasicc Saadiq -- Innovative, new, complex, respectful of his musical predecessors, pushes the envelope for r&b music. The name knows how to make a bass line groove.

This joint is simply beautiful in a world of tawdry nonsense.

  1. While his songwriting game can get amateur... Saadiq's bass virtuosity is strictly pimp caliber. [8 Oct 2004, p.117]
  2. Despite its faults--and there are many--Ray Ray is a startlingly inventive record.

Ray Ray hits more than it misses in its celebration of a time when George was making the mothership connection and Marvin just wanted to get it on. [Nov 2004, p.160]
