agJul 20, 20059The album is what i hoped for from this collab. Herron and the Books and studs, and this akbum proves both parts of that statement to be true in one sweet 20+ minute package. This is what a great ep should be and I hope these dudes get together again.

WhisperJul 22, 20059Absolutely amazing, as I've come to expect from Prefuse.

That these songs sound like mashups to my ear is both their strength and their weakness--they’re good enough to remind you of the best work of the parties at hand, but the term implies that you’re not going to hear anything new, just two songs mashed together.

Ends up mired in a decidedly mild brew. [22 Jul 2005, p.78]

60The fusion of The Books' folk stylings and traditional instrumentation (cellos, banjos, clavinets) with Prefuse's hip-hop stutter-funk produces fresh moments, just not as many as desired.
