Pretentious nonsense from a self-proclaimed genius. He should stick to making his cod-artistic films that at least come with the advantage of Christina Ricci wearing not a lot. Yawn.

  1. It sounds like a home studio project, a whole album of ideas that sound almost-clever but go absolutely fucking nowhere.
  2. 'Recordings…' might lack the obvious brilliance of his movie making, but it's more than just the dabblings of an enthusiastic amateur.

Largely spare and reflective throughout, Gallo's experimental compositions are intriguing, though the somber beauty of more straightforward pieces such as Buffalo '66's finale, "A Cold and Grey Summer Day," are far more satisfying.
