DavidNJun 23, 2010An obvious attempt to get the pop fans back on side. The promotion behind this album is mecca. The content is typical: MM whining about everything then denying it, all to the sound of dreary, looping beats. I want to be impressed, not shocked.

TomS.Jun 22, 2010Truly amazing album. It's his 2nd best behind MMLP for me. There's only one song on this I skip (W.T.P.), the rest are gold. Em is so far ahead of everyone else out there lyrically, it's not even funny. A few guys come close (Black Thought/One Be Lo/Nas), but Em's flow, complex rhyme schemes, and metaphors are second to none.

-
ChrisD.Jun 22, 2010Not quite up there with the Eminem show, his best album, but much closer than his last two albums.

EdwinJun 22, 2010Umm...why is the Entertainment Weekly score an 8.3 if it indicates a B+ on the review? Wouldn't that be more like an 8.7-8.9?

LollyPJun 22, 2010All time classic album. I enjoy listening to this more than even the Marshall Mathers LP.
-
-
WRJun 22, 2010Hands down Eminem's most lyrical album. From the content to the punchlines, everything in this album is hands down thought provoking, interesting to listen to, and emotional, at the right times.

GieunC.Jun 22, 2010A superior delivery in all technical categories as well as subject matter that is much more captivating than his previous two releases. These critics reviews actually have me baffled, as to rate this lower than Encore or Relapse, with material that is (arguably) superior to The Eminem Show is simply hipocritical. One of the greatest emcees of the twentieth century has won back a fan.
-
-
ryans.Jun 23, 2010This has to be My favorite album from Eminem. This entire album exceeds Relapse in every way. Amazing, keep it up Em.
-
-
KelKJun 23, 2010Best I've heard from Em in a while, but the overall sound is a been there done that. Still I would suggest a giving the record a listen.

BrianBJun 23, 2010HE IS BACK. the metacritics dont know or understand, they are stuck in their addictons, But Eminem surpassed his addictions and thus he is way above these critical freaks of nature. Em i get you man, get it up bro its a daily battle to remain real in the midst of all these talkers.
-
-
MichaelBJun 23, 2010Don't listen to the critics, especially not jayson greene at pitchfork, this album is one of the better albums I've heard in the past couple years, certainly eminem's best since the eminem show.

-
JamesKJun 23, 2010Honestly, Eminem has once again succeeded in making me embarrassed to listen to hip-hop. His lyrics are filled with hate and shame that he has no reason to have. Seeing the user score for this album makes me disgusted as well. Has the real hip-hop really died?
-
-
AdamDJun 23, 2010His best in years. Right behind The Marshall Mather's LP and The Eminem Show in terms of quality.

HumayunMJun 24, 2010Probably one of the best album that he has came out with. The Critics need to realize that he is getting old and he will not rap about his hate for Moby.
-
-
kb9h2opoloJun 24, 2010Awesome except for a few tracks "meh" songs --> no love, your never over, seduction, wtp and talkin to myself... Awesome tracks--> love the way you lie, almost famous, cinderella man, space bound, cold wind blows, 25 to life, wont back down Good not great--> not afraid, going through changes, so bad, the bonus track and on fire.
-
-
MattMJun 25, 2010Best album since the Mathers LP and one of the best hip hop albums in recent years. Can't remember when the last time I couldn't stop listening to an album over and over again, Great job EM keep up that killer sh*t!!!

-
JDDubbleyaJun 26, 2010Great album. Wordplay and lyricism is by far at the top of the game, and possibly top of his game. The content vaires from what were used to from Em, but he has been through a lot and he has matured and come out on the other side. Generally good production but not great. The production of the album is in my mind what makes it a 9 and not a 10.

GarryV.Jun 27, 2010One of his best albums to date, just to name a couple of amazing songs including his colaborations with lil wayne, rhianna and Kobe on 'No Love', 'Love the way you lie' and 'Talking to myself'! I think eaisly the best album of the year and going to easily be one of Eminems best ever.
-
-
idrisaJun 28, 2010These critics are insane..how could you like drake cd better than this one....eminem delivered on this record i think it is tied for his second best work the eminem show..now this cd is on track to selling 700,000 in its first week out Go em!
-
-
YianniH.Jun 22, 2010Eminem successfully recovers. Great album. Tied for his third best ever. The critics are very wrong on trashing such a brilliant album. THE BEST: No Love, Space Bound, Almost Famous, Talkin 2 Myself THE WORST: W.T.P
-
-
AndrewSJun 22, 2010Near perfection, return to the top, modern, great beats and samples, new producers, current flavour, a true classic.
-
-
GreggK.Jun 22, 2010Much better than last CD. Tight rhymes and hooks. Nice flowin Em.
-
-
ColinHJun 22, 2010This album is sick. His best in years. Everyone who hates on it just can't accept the fact that Em is now in his mid 30s and no longer feels the need to rap like he did when he was in his mid 20s. His music and his disposition is maturing and I believe its for the better. Keep it going Shady.
-
-
OvaisMJun 22, 2010His most emotional and serious album and this is the eminem I prefer.

-
JasonAJun 22, 2010Amazing album, it's so nice to get something completely different yet remarkably familiar. Very impressed, eminem is back in true form.
-
-
PeterLJun 22, 2010This is his best album since The Eminem Show. Eminem remains at the top of his game showing off his incredible lyricism and how he is untouchable on a mic with this album. His last album was mediocre, but still blew away most of what hip hop released in the past year. This album solidifies his place as a legend in hip hop. A+!

JakeA.Jun 22, 2010The majority of negative reviews for this album seem to be production based. I like that the lyrics seem to be the central thesis on this album. I guess if kanye produced this people would have been freaking out. much better than his last two.

JohnS.Jun 22, 2010An incredible album that gives an unprecedented look into the mind of one of the greatest rappers out there.
-

DanJ.Jun 22, 2010Sloppy, self-indulgent, incoherent garbage; so far away from a return to form it makes me want to cry.
-
-
ollysJun 22, 2010Completely blew me away. I'm not even that huge a fan up to this point, but I gave this one a few listens and it's mind boggling how good it is. It might sound odd but this is in my top 5 of the year, along with Janelle Monae, High Violet, American Slang and Teen Dream by Beach House. What an odd top 5 of this year to date, but that's mine.

-
HansSJun 22, 2010Eminem is back. This is album is in par with The Eminem Show. This is coming from someone who despised Encore and Relapse. The critics are just haters, half of them wouldn't appreciate good rap if Jesus delivered it himself. I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS ALBUM!!!!

TrentLJun 22, 2010This album is awesome; best album of the year so far and one of his best album I give this album a 9.5/10 . all the songs are awesome. some critics understand that this album is really good.

-
JaredY.Jun 22, 2010One of Em's best albums, definitely better than relapse. One of my personal all time favorites.
-
-
BlazeM.Jun 22, 2010Very good album. It's not often that 8 or so songs off one album make it to my ipod. There are some songs that don't capture my attention quite as well, but the overall experience is fairly strong due to: Going Through Changes, Seduction, Space Bound, Cinderella Man, 25 to Life, Almost Famous, Love the Way You Lie, and Untitled.

darrylt.Jun 23, 2010Great album eminem is back,he clearly put alot of heart into this album, most of them critics that have slated the album must be jealous of his comeback or maybe they cant get over all there own problems or addictions. haters i think there called.

Schmidty15Jun 24, 2010Big fan of Pitchfork.com but man...they blew it on their review. The only thing holding this album from being a true classic are EM's corney sing-songy choruses. Lyrically, I'm not sure if I've ever heard EM spit with so much conviction. Rejoice Slim Shady fans....he's back!

TommyKJun 25, 2010This album has shown why Eminem is on the level of the all time greats. His records evoke different emotions and with great variety. Unlike his last album "Relapse" this album isn't in a accent. This complements the subject matter of the raps. He mainly raps about his deceased best friend Proof from D12, his struggle with drugs, and his comeback to rap.
-
-
NoirlingJun 25, 2010I don't understand music critics, I suppose, because this album is excellent. There were at least 5 songs on it that I would deem hit worthy. The rest were 4 and 3 star quality. It's time to get off the HATE EMINEM bus, people. This stuff is touching and tight. Peep it.

JesusRJun 22, 2010Best album I've heard this year. Eminem has now become a trendsetter... He basically brought all different kinds of elements into this album, and if you're music fan and not necessarily an Eminem fan, you would really appreciate the hard work he's done for this album.. Highly recommended.

NeT.Jun 22, 2010Love how the critics are smashing this amazing album... It's one of the best things I've ever heard. Eminem reestablishes his love for hip-hop and music. The tracks are fire. Screw the critics, if you're a true hip-hop/ Eminem fan this album does not disappoint. Either way, I know what's going to be in my CD player for months. Good night, radio.

Awards & Rankings
-
Jan 7, 2011No matter how cleverly he's rhyming, which varies, he could use subject matter beyond married-to-the-game and his traditional obsessions. But with Shady in the shadows, rarely are these themes lifted by Em's long-recessive sense of play.
-
Much of Recovery centers around such themes as romantic devotion and anxiety, but the resulting material rings unsurprisingly hollow.
-
Sadly, a piecemeal approach to production (Dr Dre has just one credit) leaves the album lacking an abiding mood and drowning in fashionable soft-rock samples.
