    Although I love the bumpy, roller-coaster ride of emotions Red and Speak Now are, Reputation's smoother, more polished and cohesive sound was like a Disney World Attraction. Don't get me wrong, though - it is still emotionally complex in its own right and the way she puts feelings into words is as Swiftian as ever. The way each track compliments the next is genius.     i love you is art This is obviously the best pop album of the year. And that's saying something, because Lorde's sophomore album was very good as well. Taylor took everything people are saying about her and turned it into lyrical gold-as she always does. Buy it. Buy one for your grandma, grandpa, dog, cat, fish, sugar bowl. Literally, everything could use a little reputation in its life. :)

    this is definitely her best record. she has more to write about this time around and she definitely delivered! This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things is a cute Jay-Z/Kimye drag and Look What You Made Me Do is another cute drag at all her feuds this past year. in my opinion, I Did Something Bad and Dress are my top two favourite tracks.

    Álbum do ano no Grammy 2019. É absolutamente perfeito - desde sua produção as suas letras simples e complexas ao mesmo tempo. É definitivamente o álbum mais coeso e com os vocais mais maduros que a Taylor já mostrou.

    Her lyrics are very descriptive and her melodies are very catchy. The pop beats are like that of 1989 but more modern. There is a dark feel to the album and I think it definitely brings her songs to life. There is depth as well as very dance-like tracks that the average listener can rock out to.

    LWYMMD really had me fooled. This is a fantastic pop album by Taylor, and I can't wait for what this era brings. I Did Something Bad, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Ready For It, Getaway Car, and Dress are my favorites.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "reputation" - a new role Taylor, revealing her to the audience in a completely new way, but keeping her individuality.
    This album shows what ultimately came Taylor - a smooth transition from the "true country" in the face "Taylor Swift" and "Fearless" to have more pop, but still country "Speak Now", which turned out to filled with simple motifs and primitive, but genuine and incredible sounding "Red", after which we heard directed at the mass audience "1989", full of iconic pop style.
    And in the end we got a "reputation", which completely showing only her strong and tough side and killing the image of Taylor as a singer, singing only about her next ex-boyfriend. Despite the abundance of electronic sound, melody and vocal melody in "reputation" will not disappear - there's a beautiful contrast (especially noticeable in the song "End Game", recorded together with absolutely different-sounding singers - Ed Sheeran and raper Future), which showing Swift as one of the greatest performers of our time, who can combine electronic beats with beautiful smooth vocals.
    It's definitely something new for Taylor, and for the modern music industry too. So... wait.

Indeed, the sixth studio album from the Nashville-based superstar introduces a fiercer, more determined, and more experimental persona, with a sound that'll appeal to a wider audience than that of '"1989". On first listen, it might feel weird to listen to these brand-new polished-pop tracks, and what's even weirder is that it's hard to believe that they were made by the same person who made an album like "Speak Now".

    There's no denying that Taylor really took a leap with this record: we heard her cuss for the first time ("I Did Something Bad"), sing about sex so explicitly ("Dress"), and even turn that little grin she sometimes put on previous songs into a full-on blown drunken-like laugh ("This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"). Long gone is the story-telling, but the lyricism i still as sharp and as personal. The productions, the little vocal effects, the variations, and the auto-tune (there's tons of it on there) are all very-well done. Even though a track or two might feel boring ("So It Goes..." didn't click with me), there are a lot of songs that are sure to light fires inside of the listeners ("Getaway Car" is easily a highlight, "I Did Something Bad" and its outstanding witchcraft-referencing bridge, "Delicate" is so reminiscent of "Style", and the beautiful emotional demo-like closer "New Year's Day"). It's important to note that the parts where she's singing without auto-tune showcase her best vocal deliveries since she first started writing songs: her voice has grown deeper, and subtler.

    In conclusion, this is definitely not Taylor Swift's best album, but it is very personal, and very cohesive, and very sonically-adventurous, and that's good enough to make an everlasting effect. But If one thing's for sure about this record, it's that it is definitely worth the hype.    … Expand

    This is one of my favourite Taylor Swift albums. It's so fascinating to watch how this woman keeps redefining herself as an artist. She just keeps getting better. It comes together so beautifully and shows us a side of her that we've never seen before. the production is by far her best and sounds extremely theatrical and cinematic. I love the dark sound to it. What makes a Taylor SwiftThis is one of my favourite Taylor Swift albums. It's so fascinating to watch how this woman keeps redefining herself as an artist. She just keeps getting better.     She captures what it is like being in your mid-20s and the raging emotions that come from dealing with drama and adulthood. She experiments with new sounds and takes risks that have managed to come out very well in her favor. Finally, she is brutally honest about herself, her feelings, her reactions, and simply does not plan to let the drama ruin her life.

    The album is great! It doesn't feel overdone, overly dramatic, too sappy, or even too sassy. It is a delicate(pardon the pun) balance of everything that makes it just right. Taylor does not sacrifice lyrical depth for beat fetishism. Every song has a fair portion of emotion as well as the dance vibes we look for these days. And she has still retained her storytelling skills that we know all too well.

    This album has my wig! Best one yet! I love it! New Years Day is definitely one of my favorites and was a great closer for the album. The collaboration with Future and Ed Sheeran was also unexpectedly great!

    Reputation plays with differents sounds in each song. Swift give us an album full of stories about her personal life and somehow, that's beautiful. This album prove us why she is one of the most influential artist and songwriters in the world, and maybe, of all the times.

The pre-releases for the record do not justify the overall work, and I strongly commend the lyricism and production, which was narrowed to a small group of producers, a trend becoming more and more popular in the current pop music landscape, where albums like 'Melodrama' (Lorde) are regarded in a fairer light than the airy, multi-producer, 'evil' pop.… Expand

    This album blew my expectations out of the water. Smart, catchy, curated, vocally astonishing, shady and romantic. One of the best albums of the year and, most certainly, the best one from her. Bravo.

    A lyrical masterpiece. A standout album. As always, if you don't like the album or understand a song, you clearly aren't smart enough. She has taken her songwriting to another level. Haters gonna hate, this album is pure pop perfection.

    After giving it a second hearing I changed my mind. Most of the songs are really pleasing. LWYMMD was the perfect choice for the first single, but the lyrics are too superficial. Extra points for New Year's Day, the best track on the album.

    Absolutely incredible. Taylor did such a fantastic job with the lyrics, production and sheer attention to detail. I understand that some people are going to trash it simply because they don't like her as a person, but if you listen to the songs as they are you'll realize how amazing they are.

Here on Reputation, Taylor pulls some of the feel of "1989" and mixes it with some grittier electro-pop production which end up being some of the most interesting cuts available ("Don't Blame Me", "Look What You Made Me Do", "Ready For It"). Other potential hits include "Gorgeous" and "End Game", both featuring some of Taylor's established style and the later bringing in guest rap vocals to shake things up. As Reputation progresses, the gloss and grit slowly smooth out and it's more of "1989" which should be a welcomed fact for big fans that wanted more of the hit parade that was Taylor's last album. Reputation simply confirms that Taylor can hold her own atop the pop hill - dethroning her will take some serious muscle and those that would challenge her are far and few between as Maroon 5 aren't as trendy as they once were, Katy Perry is slowly drowning her own career. If you ask me, only Ariana Grande can challenge Taylor Swift for pop stardom and hit parades, everyone else is looking up at the show.… Expand

Not only is it different from her previous work but she isn't shying away from the "I'm the villain of my OWN story, eff you" trope. Which is amazing on her hand because it shows that she doesn't give a damn about her reputation or what anyone is saying about her anymore.     I never thought I could like a Taylor Swift album as much as I like this piece of work. Not only is it good, it also marks a great musical evolution for Swift. Although her sound is very different, we can still see the influences from her previous album in this one. It has a more cohesive and mature sound than ever. Definitely worth the wait.

    Really good album but some tracks seem out of place and are just average it just makes the album a little bit less dynamic for me. Lyrics are not what we are used to but that's okay. There's songs that I absolutely love and that would make great hits.

    One of the best albums of the deacade. Taylor's most intimate album. It's better than RED, 1989 and SPEAK NOW.
    With lyrics showing her maturation, the singer shows that she is not kidding with her rivals in the industry and that much less will let them stain her REPUTATION

    This is one of her best work so far. I've been waiting for 3 years and Taylor did not let me down. I love the "darkness" vibe that this album brings. I can feel her pain and hope, her struggle... no matter what happens this girl is still believe in love. (And this probably one of Taylor sexiest album, yet.)
