    Silverstein will always have a special place in my heart, and im really loving this album. These guys have an awesome way of, almost changing their sound for certain songs, like the song repalce you and its acoustic version have very different feelings being the same song and like the artist which is a lot heavier than everything on this album. this band is very versatile, which i reallySilverstein will always have a special place in my heart, and im really loving this album. These guys have an awesome way of, almost changing their sound for certain songs, like the song repalce you and its acoustic version have very different feelings being the same song and like the artist which is a lot heavier than everything on this album. this band is very versatile, which i really appreciate because i dont like hearing the same song with different lyrics, i want a completely new song, and each song on this album has its differences that make each song stand out. now why didnt i give this a perfect ten? yes this album has a lot of emotion but not a lot compared to other releases like discovering the waterfront, and arrivals and departures.… Collapse

    I love Silverstein, and their new album is the first by an artist I've liked for a few years released this year that I really like. All the songs are equal to each other, there are enough heavier songs and enough smoother songs in there. None of the songs come off as particularly harder than usual, and some of the environmental overtones that drowned out "A Shipwreck in the Sand" are noI love Silverstein, and their new album is the first by an artist I've liked for a few years released this year that I really like. I enjoyed the album a lot, much like all of their previous ones, and if you're a fan, you should obviously check it out as well. I'll even recommend it for non-fans. A lot of songs seem softer than previously, but still have the same Silverstein feel, and if you've yet to check them out, I'd recommend this as one of the albums by them you decide to check out.… Expand

    A small number of bands has continued to carry that torch in an effort to find places for innovation and elbow room for fresh sounds without coming off as cheesy or hollow. Silverstein is one of those bands, and with Rescue, they've crafted another great record.

    In Silverstein's hands--a decade and five albums deep now--these very same, well-worn tricks work surprisingly well and it speaks volumes for the Ontario five-piece that this, their Hopeless records debut, fizzles with life and vitality from start to finish. [23 Apr 2011, p.51]

    For all its polish and sonic approachability, this is no sell-out record. Rescue may go down easy, but at the album's core, it's still an appealingly bitter pill.
