Buddy Guy has both defined and re-defined the Blues. This phenomenal record testifies to the never-ending relevance of the Blues, as well as this man's permanent status as LEGEND. This album deserves to be heard, and hopefully gains the recognition of today's primarily blues-less crowd. Rhythm & Blues is a proper double album: each disc is notionally themed though, as you'd rightly expect, there's plenty of each. [Oct 2013, p.88]
  3. It's loud, it's brash, it's real and it's utterly exhausting.
