A quick dozen tunes happily unconcerned with mass appeal. [Jan/Feb 2006, p.95]
  2. Spin

His agile attack still lacks Jigga's precision, 50's swagger, or Kanye's cocky confessionalism. [Jan 2006, p.92]
  3. Los Angeles Times
    75
Another strong batch of songs that are as entertaining as they are thought-provoking. [6 Dec 2005]
  4. Kweli's slight charisma deficiency is tempered by collabos with MF Doom and Jean Grae, although the Black Star reunion with Mos Def ("Supreme, Supreme") adds little to their legacy.
  5. Billboard
    60
Leans more toward conscious than commercial. [26 Nov 2005]
  6. Right About Now is a pleasure when it's taken for what it is: not a big statement or a fully polished work of art, but a collection of what could have been and might be.
  7. Stocked with leftovers and ornery jabs at the status quo.

Y'all reviewers are dumbfucks. Kweli spits out game like no otha, he's got substance to go along with style and lyrical flow. The Y'all reviewers are dumbfucks. Right about now contends for album of the year. Expand

Good, but not great. The album starts out strong. The middle is pretty good. But the last 3 songs are absolute stinkers.

The beautiful struggle was exactly that. A struggle, but not a beautiful one... he was strugglin to stay underground and gain that slow momentum, or just go for pop music, it missed more than it hit.... Anyone want a great Kweli album should get "Reflection Eternal" w/ DJ Hi-Tek or his stint in Blackstar. The rest are quite dissapointing.
