Rituals is a very good album when it’s on fire, and while the band might not have quite grasped the album concept yet, it serves as an interesting counterpart to latter day M83.

The debut album by this French five-piece sends an icy wind cutting through their shoegaze haze. [May 2013, p.78]

If you were expecting a post-rock album, you've come to the wrong place; this is something sharper, more accessible, sure, but no less clever.

They may never outshine M83 but Rituals at least establishes Team Ghost in their own right.

A few too many other tracks, such as "Away", compensate for thin material with sheer bluster, and they can feel unwarrantedly grueling. But there's a conviction here, and that's nothing to feel sorry for.

Team Ghost and Fromageau have a number of good ideas, but the band's biggest downfall stems from the fact that they sometimes condense too many of these ideas into too small a space.

For all [Nicolas Fromageau's] attempts at darkness, Fromageau can’t shake the pretty effusiveness that bolstered M83′s first few albums to the spotlight.
