This rather too eager-to-please set doesn't quite live up to its promise. [Mar 2012, p.82]

It should be stressed that Fanfarlo never sound purposefully derivative of other acts, but as much as they've expanded their musical borders beyond what they displayed on their first record, the spectre of that Montréal indie rock juggernaut still looms over each complex, baroque number.

Lighter on the pop and heavier on ornamentation but keeps enough of the playful antics that garnered the first album such popularity.

ItI really enjoyed Fanfarlo's last effort, but did find myself rambling while listening it, especially in the middle sections of the album. It blended perfectly as a background soundtrack to my daily routine. Rooms Filled with Light is a bit more buoyant, there are highs and lows and, while it also flows effortlessly like Reservoir, it brings more of a warmth and joyous feeling, the kind that sunny Sunday mornings give. I liked it immediately, and it;s been growing on me. Definitely a keeper for the rest of the year, as I'm sure will still listen to this album by December 2012.... and on. Full Review »

Rooms Filled with Light boasts a bigger, more complex sound than we've heard from Fanfarlo, and while it isn't as immediately accessible as Reservoir, when given a little time it proves itself to be a stronger and more satisfying listen.
