While not as good as their second album, Primary Colours, which is destined to be an Australian classic, this album is not a failure - perhaps just the difficult third album. While it does not further refine the distinctive Eddy Current sound, with songs ranging from adequate to excellent, it is still a worthwhile contribution to their oeuvre. That is, it rocks!

  1. In the end, the unexpectedly loose, protean feel of Rush to Relax makes for a wholly satisfying step forward from one of Australia's finest bands of the first decade of the 2000s.
  2. The album's transition between punk-rock madness and mid-tempo melodies keeps Rush To Relax from getting redundant, and while you may have heard this sound before, it rarely sounds this good.
  3. Basic, unassuming, and calling to mind a grip of classic material without going to great lengths to mimic it, Rush to Relax, the band’s third LP, adds almost nothing new to Eddy Current Suppression Ring’s repertoire.
