  • Summary: This is the second LP for the Chicago emo band.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 4 out of 8
  2. Negative: 0 out of 8
  1. [Their] just-edgy-enough indie punk has an endearing salty sweetness. [6 Apr 2007, p.77]
  2. Sadly, TAI...'s surprise maturation isn't yet 100 per cent complete.
  3. An enjoyable next step for the Academy Is..., this album shows that the guys are still growing, but maybe just starting to figure themselves out.
  4. 60
While the lyrics are strictly study-hall (“I’m no gentleman/I can be a prick” = poetry!), TAI… separate from the emo wolf pack by cribbing furiously from ’70s rock.

A breath of fresh air! Not sure if "the scene" is ready for this new sound but this CD is a breakthrough from the monotony.

Decent. The first 4 tracks, 'Seeds' and 'Neighbours' are the only standout tracks, but they didn't change my world. Dissappointing "comeback", since their debut was extremely catchy. Expand

    Unimaginative & stupidly boring!
