The music may be unspectacular, but it just works.

While Crushed Beaks' mix of brash and dreamy sounds is promising, it often seems like they're still figuring out how to make it work.
  3. 70
The intensity may curtail towards the end, but the band more than make up for it with an album that has a core of bulldozer guitar lines and assaulting drums, all of which carry with them the promise of the best house party you’ve ever been to.
  4. An exuberant record that is well worth your time.
  5. Feb 9, 2015
    60
On Scatter, Crushed Beaks find their a solid centre, as well as a gift for urgent, spangly melody.
  6. Feb 9, 2015
    50
On the moments that they commit to one priority over the other, Crushed Beaks show an energetic flair which most likely translates to a blistering live sound. But when they try to split the difference, the results are middling on Scatter.
