  1. This is something we've been waiting a long time for - a truly great Manics album.
  2. The material is of a consistently high standard, nary a clunker in the bunch, but while many will be surprised by Send Away The Tigers, few will be bowled over.
  3. If it doesn't quite scale the dizzy heights of 'The Holy Bible' or 'Everything Must Go', it certainly comes close and is, in many ways, the quintessential Manics album - the cathartic regeneration that the band really needed in order to become relevant again.

Tigers... sees the brain of the Manics reunited with their strongest qualities: their heart, humanity and soul. [Jun 2007, p.102]
  5. The winces subside with each listen, and the gung-ho vitality of the music - full of nods to the Stooges, Guns N'Roses and the Ramones - helps grant the band a little absolution.

Existing fans are well served. [Jun 2007, p.112]
  7. They have made this album many times before and one assumes they will make it many times again.

Pretty much the best thing they've done since Everything Must Go. Concise, powerful, catchy, rocking.

I'm very pleased with SATT as a long time manics fan. It's more catchy than Lifeblood, which is not a bad thing. I think it's I'm very pleased with SATT as a long time manics fan. It's more catchy than Lifeblood, which is not a bad thing. I think it's what the band needed. At 10 songs and close to 40 min, it's quite coherent and consistently good throughout. I really enjoyed the guitar tones and production on this album. Expand

The return to form they've been looking for for over a decade. Their best since "Everything Must Go".

Over-produced, bland and forgettable. No dangers of the Manics being a great band again. If you own 'Everything Must Go', 'The Over-produced, bland and forgettable. No dangers of the Manics being a great band again. If you own 'Everything Must Go', 'The Holy Bible' and 'Generation Terrorists' then you certainly don't need this. All the songs plod by with perfect MOR radio rockstylings, making no lasting impression. While it certainly isn't terrible, it's not a work that'll grab you like their best works do. This is better than the three albums that precede it, but that's no great victory. Expand
