Submit to these tongue-in-cheek disco-rock readymades and it's as if you're hearing irony and an ass-kicking backbeat for the very first time. [Mar 2006, p.112]

Mileage left in the gag yet. [Apr 2005, p.108]
  3. There are some truly great moments on "Senor Smoke".
  4. It's marooned in novelty. [Apr 2005, p.121]

This album has some great rock songs, but the musical direction and the musicians are different from the first record; people that give a low rating do so mainly because they think all bands should stick to the same pattern over and over and over. Electric six changes on every record, and that's for the better. Expand

This is a solid rock album with lofty lyrics. I think that anyone that gives this album a low rating hasn't listened to it enough. Most of these reviews don't justify the rating the goes with it anyway. If the album's so bad, why give it a forty and not a zero? Expand

A new step forward for these guys. I got the British import over a year ago so I've listened to this album a lot. More thought out and fuller than their previous album. Definatley worth checking out. Expand

Not as good as their previous album "Fire" but well worth the listen.
