With Shine On, Jet manage to establish a common ground between Badfinger and AC/DC. [Nov 2006, p.110]
  2. If you get a kick out of glorious, ragged old rock'n'roll, then you'll consider it essential.
  3. Mostly forgettable. [6 Oct 2006, p.68]
  4. While occasionally generic, nothing on Shine On is as annoying as their breakthrough single, Are You Gonna Be My Girl.
  5. 50
It's when Jet explore the territory between their lodestars [AC/DC and the Beatles] that they go from being decent mimics to inconsequential imitators. [Nov 2006, p.96]
  6. [Jet] are making a career out of sounding like a Small Faces tribute band covering The Beatles in the style of Oasis.
  7. You can practically hear the energy draining away as the album progresses and one song slides into another, indistinguishable by either melody or lyric.

This isn't as good as Get Born, but it's good. Very good. Jet is the modern day Beatles. Simple as that.
The title track is good, and Rip it
up is a sleeper track. Expand
