    Brilliant, smashing, delightful, arousing, euphoric, and at times touching. 'Tis a buffet of emotion, thanks to Pete and Mr. Street.

    An amazing album that's a joy to listen to from start to finish. Unlike the occasionally brilliant but often frustrating "Down in Albion," there's not a misstep on "Shotter's Nation." This is what Peter Doherty should be known for.

    Only thing on this album that isn't worth worshipping is Lost Art Of Murder, Doherty's performance of the song on Jonathon Ross was much, much better than the version on Shotter's Nation. Definitely the best lyrics he's written since The Libertines.

    Even if he sometimes hides his talent under a bushel, there can be no doubt that Pete has songwriting greatness in him. Anyone who doubts that, and all scumbag tabloid journos that write about him should listen to unbilotitled and repent.

    Outstanding album. Undoubtedly the best thing Pete Doherty has been involved in since Up the Bracket. French Dog Blues, Baddies Boogie, Unbilotitled, and Deft Left Hand show a major progression from the mess, albeit a charming one, that was Down In Albion. The songs are now much more structured with distinct chorus's and catchy guitar lines. This one definitely ups the ante for the Outstanding album. Undoubtedly the best thing Pete Doherty has been involved in since Up the Bracket. French Dog Blues, Baddies Boogie, Unbilotitled, and Deft Left Hand show a major progression from the mess, albeit a charming one, that was Down In Albion.     Production wise and overall sound wise, its better than their first album. Doherty sounds surprisingly sober, the muttering/sloppy drunk rambling vocals of their debut are gone - And instead actual fully formed songs take their place. Maybe if Pete Doherty can stay clean for more than 2 weeks he will finally be acknowledged as the musical genius which he might be. And maybe his band will Production wise and overall sound wise, its better than their first album.     I can't really compare Babyshambles and The Libertines together. They have two different distinct sounds to their music. But to be honest, I like Babyshambles more. Shotter's Nation's is a really good album. The guitar pieces are a lot more catchier than the guitar pieces in The Libertines albums because it sounds a lot more smoother, where as The Libertines took a punk rock sound to theirI can't really compare Babyshambles and The Libertines together. They have two different distinct sounds to their music. But to be honest, I like Babyshambles more. Shotter's Nation's is a really good album. The guitar pieces are a lot more catchier than the guitar pieces in The Libertines albums because it sounds a lot more smoother, where as The Libertines took a punk rock sound to their music.     Some great stuff on here, Unbilotitled and Unstookietitled are ace and Lost art of murder is fantastic, only prob is the rest seems to be just fragments, a song will start off brilliant and then meander into some boring bit at a tangent or vice versa, the songs see a bit disjointed. You Talk', starts off ace but gets a bit boring.     I like this CD...esp. with all the hype around Pete Doherty and his endless antics with drugs, models and what not... He has a lot to say, even though it isn't the best of what is good in life. Anyway, I don't understand all the "10s" he's getting here from the fans, but I respect there opinions. I reserve my 10s for uncompromising genius and entertainment: "Nirvana" anybody?

    A much more coherent follow up than their debut Down in Albion. Unfortunately the songs here are the tamest and blandest Doherty has written. Stephen Street deserves credit on production duties. He's gotten the most out of a collection of very average songs. It's a pity he wasn't around for their debut when the songs had much more potential but ultimately butchered in studio. Where thisA much more coherent follow up than their debut Down in Albion. Unfortunately the songs here are the tamest and blandest Doherty has written.     Mediocre songwriting, especially by comparison with the indie competition. Doherty can't sing and his lyrics are rubbish. I guess that's what a diet of crack and junk does to your brain cells.
