  1. For all its stylistic variety, though, Sinners hangs together thanks to Malo's consistently remarkable vocals. Listening to this guy sing--listening to him sing anything--is an act of pure pleasure.

Malo is busy carving out the new genre of sincere south-of-the-border melodrama. It's all delivered within a classic 40 minute album length. The perfect pop punch.
  3. Together, the album presents a coherent world view that says more about present day life than a thousand Sunday sermons, newspaper editorials, and radio talk show broadcasts combined, and it does so with beautiful melodies and compelling musicality.
  4. Sinners & Saints is the most confident, self-assured, and consistent recording Malo's done, and it showcases his own playing and songwriting at an entirely new level of skill.
  5. Sinners & Saints finds Malo in fine company with a distinctive Texas twang courtesy of Augie Meyers, Shawn Sahm, the Trishas, and Michael Guerra.
