Just as Metallica introduced a generation to Misfits with their 1997 covers EP, Garage Days Re-Revisited, Danzig pays similarly enthusiastic homage to his influences on Skeletons. [Jan 2016, p.94]

The balance he strikes between stuff you should have heard by now and stuff you’ll want to hear from this moment forward is perfect.

Raw, rowdy, and devoid of any sort of studio chicanery, Skeletons feels less like a proper Danzig album and more like a home recording of a boozy late-night house show. Surprisingly, its slapdash, lo-fi demeanor mostly works in its favor.

With a demo-like production, it's not as good as the Ramones' similarly sourced Acid Eaters, but hearing him Danzig-up these tunes is still highly entertaining. [5 Dec 2015, p.52]

Skeletons’ canned production is tolerable up to this point, with the riffs and drums serving as background noise to Danzig’s trademark voice, but it only dilutes a track like “N.I.B.”.
