VanGaalen's songwriting is not the kind that can be fully digested upon first listen In fact, some of it may jsut be indigetable to some of us. 1. Despite any bugaboos, he's a plain great songwriter, and Skelliconnection is firmly above average.
  2. VanGaalen proves beyond doubt that he is perfectly capable of rocking out as much as any four-piece group without losing any of the intimacy and creativity established on his first album. [Summer 2006]
  3. VanGaalen's a skilled musician, and compositionally the pieces are well-constructed, but there's nothing on the record that truly blows you away.
