This is a very exciting and unexpected release. I am glad someone is making music like this out there! It's like Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti meets (Insert your fave metal/garage band here) ________.

Powerful album, the extreme garage rock possible. The guitars are amazing: they're the base of the songs. Great distortions. The last song is mind blowing. One of the best of the year!

Louder and dirtier than Ty Segall's Twins, released shortly after this. Slaughterhouse is the Habanero to Twins' Jalapeno. A very catchy and less psychedelic than Ty's solo work, but not entirely dissimilar. An album definitely work picking up.

Segall takes us on a tour de force that is short and succinct in nature and delivery: the music swells with an infinite amount of pulse and drive and supported by Segall's remarkable ear for melody, it's simply another winner in his long-standing discography.

It's not Segall's best, but Slaughterhouse sits near the top of the heap of loud, ignorant party garage.

The combined effort finally nails that heady, hard-edged retro sound. [Jun 2012, p.155]
