I think this is an awesome followup to bron to do it featuring many marketable tracks that could have been brought out as singles e.g. eenie meenie, hands up in the air and two steps back.

Its a different sound, but at the same time you know its Craig David. He makes it soeasy to make a certain sound his own. I love it!

A brilliant sophomore effort. 'Rise & fall' with Sting is great, as are the title track, 'Hands up in the air' (my favorite), '2 steps back'. Craig is here to stay.

This album is average compared to Born to Do it and all the songs are not good. In fact you will find yourself skipping a few songs. This is the type of ablum you could listen to a few weeks or maybe months and then you get bored like I did. In fact I got so bored and disappointed of this average follow up to born to do it that I sold it on Amazon.

This is a solid follow up to his first album, with some good quality tracks. But unlike with the first album I found myself skipping tracks because they were weaker than his average. All in all worth the purchase, and worth the wait.

  1. This gentle, suave, insistent smoothie parlayed his direct lyrics and tricky beats into a strong straight r&b album in a year when contenders Raphael Saadig and Me'shell NdegéOcello got tangled up in form.
  2. Way more consistent than your average over-long US R&B release, whilst still being stuffed with just as many potential singles.
  3. Thank goodness David can still lay down some good pop balladry. [22 Nov 2002, p.78]
