It’s entirely delightful, and Andy Bell has never sung better, discovering his “inner choirboy” again.

Snow Globe is just a fantastic bloody record full stop.

Tomita-worthy retro electronica that justifies another stab at White Christmas, and rehabilitates lesser-known carols such as Midnight Clear and Sleep Quietly. [Jan 2014, p.97]

Think of it as a personal and meaningful gift for fans, not just some "didn't think much about it" trinket or faceless gift certificate.

Snow Globe is one of the more palatable additions to the Christmas cannon, and a really good Erasure record to boot.
  6. 63
A mixed bag of carols, contemporary pop songs (their take on Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song" is a quirky trip) and five originals.
  7. 40
Ultimately, Snow Globe doesn’t know what it wants to be, an album of covers or a showcase for the band’s return, and it sucks some of the joy out of the holiday favorites while it painstakingly tries to figure it out.
