Green may not be a sonic wizard, and her songs may cover familiar topics in a familiar way, but she fills the album with songs you'll be humming to yourself all day long, adding to mixes, and sharing with friends who are into weird pop-punk, and that's what's most important in the end.

Thematic speculation aside Green has managed, more simply to write a compelling collection of guitar pop songs.

While Green’s sleepy pop-punk songwriting is the stuff of afternoon nap dreams, it’s too bad that the vinyl single isn’t a more viable option, as the longer, slower tracks that fill the spaces between those little gems dissipate the album’s buzz.

With the increased polish and sheen, one can't help thinking that some of the charm is lost. [Mar-Apr 2013, p.103]

Green's harder edge and presence as a musician can be heard lyrically, although her soft vocals fall flat, shrouded by a sea of synthesized blips and bleeps from the ubiquitous drum sounds.

Sock It to Me isn’t an unpleasant experience, but Green’s only doing things that have been done before and more skillfully.
