    The worst thing is, for all the nauseating country-rock-lite choruses, this is agonisingly catchy. [Summer 2013, p.89]

    The good songs are timeless facsimiles that float out of another era's memory, while the rest of the album's tracks, while well built, recorded, and sung, seem like forgettable, hazy clichés from 30 years ago.

    Euphoric at its best and lightest moments ("Fairlane" sweeps listeners up with a bright, infectious melodic arc), quietly ardent when pressed ("Dear Alice" mines memories in the name of saving what was), the lack of flash reflects what it means to seek one's destiny in a place where the dream shrinks more and more each day.
