  1. Easily Strait’s worst album in over a decade.
  2. Somewhere Down in Texas could have benefited from the addition of an irresistible rhythm tune or another example of the western swing that Strait embraced so fervently early in his career.
  3. There's nothing new or surprising here, but it's a completely satisfying listen thanks to the strong material, sustained mood, and Strait's unhurried, confident performance.

Strait's 33rd CD is as solid as Nos. 32, 31, et al., even if not every song is Alamo-level memorable. [24 Jun 2005, p.162]

The album is short (less than 40 minutes), elegant and neat almost to a fault, with no extra instruments or extra verses. [27 Jun 2005]

George has done better CD's in his career, but I'd assume it would be hard for even him to reach the standard that he himself set. George Strait has to be the best country singer there's been and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool! I'm just messing, but George Strait has to be the best country singer there's been and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool! I'm just messing, but George really is the best!! Full Review »

This is George Strait's first average album ever, that I can recall. Perhaps it's time to do something different.
