MaggieMayJun 14, 20029Poetic, haunting... everything that we love about Vega. Only complaint: keyboard music in "Machine Ballerina" doesn't seem to fit the rest of the album, which is full of perfect counter-melodies on mandolin and piano.

80A polished, classy album whose retrained elegance and melancholy resonance more than compensate for its lack of rhythmic and instrumental restlessness.

Infinite sadness, hypnotic beauty. [28 Sep 2001, p.74]
-
60A simple, often stark record reminiscent of her eponymous 1985 debut.
