    They never supersede the originals, but hardly suffer in comparison.

    His voice and interpretive skills are such, though, that most tracks fit him like a glove.

    There's nothing bad to be said for Soul 2, and with Horn on production everything shines brightly like the first snowflakes of a new winter.

    It's certainly pleasant either as nostalgia or as high-end lifestyle music.

    while Seal's voice is a natural fit, it's hard to discern what these versions add, given their general faithfulness to the originals.

    At 33, I was a child in the 80's but I have fairly vivid memories of the sappiness of a lot of the soft rock hits that were so prevalent at the time. That's what this Seal covers album reminds me of. One listen, and I feel like I'm at the mall in 1982 shopping for some pants. The production is nice and sparkly but the emotion is totally lacking.
