    It's safe to say that nobody has created such an immediately unique sound for themselves since Shampoo were huge. At once spooky, melancholic, strange and exhilarating. It crosses genres to show everyone from pop princesses to fuck-you-metallers how their type of music should be done. With a combination like this, all infused with wit and a quality control that should make others blush, you have no excuses not to go out and buy it now.… Expand

    This album is simply the weakest eels album to date. It cannot match the joy or glee of "Daisies of the Galaxy." Nor can it match the heartfelt messeges found in "Electro-Shock Blues." The album is pusleless.

    Fantastic album when measured up against most other music, but less than impressive when stood back to back with Eels' previous releases. While it's great to hear E with his dander up, I gotta miss the dark poetry of Electro-shock Blues.

    Come ON, reviewers. Obviously the a: onslaught of teen pop and b: your rush to slobber and drool over such supposedly groundbreaking acts as Starsailor and Elbow has dulled your listening sensibilities. No other way about it, Souljacker is a masterpiece. Funkier numbers like Dog Faced Boy, Souljacker Pt 1 and Teenage Witch are great, but it is with the sublime World of Shit that the album truly rises above the stratosphere.… Expand

    I love the Eels and this cd fuckin' rocks! Although I like the sounds from their previous cd's it's good to see the Eels branching out a little.

    Best pop album of 2001. Too bad the US had to wait 'till 2002 to hear it. E is a genius.

    Eels rock! I loved this album nearly as much as their other ones. I didn't feel it quite matched up to the artistry on 'Daisies' and 'Electroshock', especially on the weaker tracks such as 'Teenage Witch' and 'That's Not Really Funny', but maybe it will grow on me. An excellent album, all around.

    Better than most of the releases out there, but does not compare to the Eels's previous release "Daisies of the Galaxy". If you think you like this CD, you have to check out Daisies which should have been a huge seller. It is easily one of the best albums of the decade. The Eels are the smart man's Beck. This release falls short of being a masterpiece, but Friendly Ghost and Dog Faced Boy are worth the price of admission. … Expand
