Speak Now is a step up from Taylor's previous two albums. There's a bit more creativity and the lyrics are sometimes pretty good (albeit still sappy), and for the most part it flows nicely. I guess if you're into country music this would be a decent enough album. That being said, this still really isn't my style of music. It's just so basic, so inoffensive, so corny. Once again, Swift has produced an impeccable work of art. The best songs on the album are iconic in Swift's career. Back to December pulls on the heartstrings of the listener. Even the tracks which are not as good, still remain better than the generic music of 2010.

For an artist with my ratings, it is extremely hard to get an album into the “nine” range. So far, I have reviewed six of Taylor Swift’s seven albums, and not one, not two, but three of hers have reached this point. Only nine albums have gotten a score higher than a 8.00, and Swift has three in that range. This just reflects Swift’s ability to write amazing music. Speak Now got a score of 9.14, the second best I have reviewed after Swift’s earlier release, Fearless. This is well-earned, too. As always, Swift demonstrates her music-writing capability by blowing it out of the water with Speak Now. Mine, Mean, The Story Of Us, and Enchanted are some of my all time favorite songs, and a lot of material from Swift’s third album is near this quality. I don’t really have any complaints. Last Kiss might have been a little lackluster but even that wasn’t horrible, as I really liked its lyrics. All in all, I had an amazing time listening to Speak Now and I am sad that there is only one album from Taylor Swift I have not reviewed yet, meaning I am almost done listening to different material from her. I really enjoy Swift’s music and everyone who loves good music will too. Highlights: Mine, Sparks Fly, Back To December, Speak Now, Mean, The Story Of Us, Never Grow Up, Enchanted, Better Than Revenge, Innocent, Haunted, Long Live, Ours, and Superman.

Who would've known that Speak Now was going to become her weakest effort yet. Yes, she wrote every song alone, but that's one factor in making a solid, strong track that doesn't come out as mediocre country. Haunted is her best country rock song, but i'm glad she switched to pop music when she did, as i would not buy an album like this again.

I can never believe that she could write one of the best albums ever of the decade of 2010s all by herself. Taylor Swift is a very great songwriter. "Sparks Fly" is a very fun, lovely song. while "Back To December", "Enchanted", are very emotional songs with beautiful lyrics. I love this album. It is one of the best country albums ever.

Is it possible to dislike a Taylor Swift album? (If we don't count Lover though). Although I like Fearless more, this album touches my heart in a very different way. I am a person who prefers to write letters to people instead of talking to them, and I never sent them. I keep those letters on my closet. Speak Now is that kind of album for me. Very confessional, very honest.

It is so complicated that you will love it, it is so difficult to understand but at the same time so majestic that it will become your favorite Miss Swift album. Taylor proved to be a bold writer by composing each and every one of the Speak Now songs on her own and making it look like there is a great team behind the hard work lyrics.

I will get straight to the point:this is Taylor Swift's best country album, and I say "country" because I don't really feel like calling it her best album overall knowing that the type of music she is making now is completely different. Anyways; I loved the way she mixed rock and country, because she did it wonderfully, making some of the her best songs I've listened to so far. And something else I found really amazing too is the fact that she wrote this album all by herself, this woman has an undeniable talent when it comes to songwriting, and she definitely shows it on this record. What makes this album so unique is that she doesn't talk about one single thing. On this album, you will find songs about love, growing up, one dedicated to her fans, and another one dedicated to the critics (which is, in my opinion, a country music gem), and songs about not only forgiving but asking for forgiveness too. It basically has it all, and overall, this is a great album and definitely a highlight in her discography. Expand

Speak Now is just a great album. Yes a lot of it could've been improved but Taylor wrote and produced this album all by herself and for an 18-19 year old writing and producing it, it is pretty incredible. All of the songs were different but still were cohesive. If you're looking for a piece of country work that's lyrically strong, Speak Now is the album for you.

Best album by Taylor Swift. I liked how diverse are the songs. It's good musically but lyrically, something is bothering me. Songs like "Speak Now", "Dear John" and "Better than Revenge" made me wonder what Taylor really is inside. In my honest opinion, t's like at some point, she has a very narrow perspective at things. That's just what I think though.

On "Speak Now", she makes a big step from her sophomore album. She has improved lyrically and in production, songs with more than 5 minutes that are not boring but are even more wonderful. The way she herself produced and wrote these 14 songs is foreboding for a great artist who is going to take over the world. Solo Taylor puede hacerlo de una manera, esa es escribiendo un álbum completamente sola, eso señoras y señoras es talento, Taylor no solo nos demuestra sus mas grandes cualidades, el ser una artista completa y excelente compositora.

Taylor was confirmed as a pop singer in her new album and how it can make use of a genre like country music to sell millions while she is destroying this genre, although her lyrics continue to be those of an innocent young girl and continue to generate a good image around it...is the same...always

One of the greatest albums of 2010. I'm disappointed because the singles ''Mine'' and ''Back to December'' did not reach the #1 of the U.S. Billboard. I think that the next singles must be: ''Better than Revenge'', ''Dear John'', ''Haunted'', ''Last Kiss'' and ''Innocent''

A personal highlight within the country albums for me, both from Taylor's repertoire and within the overall country music. If this is what a fully Taylor Swift written album sounds and feels like I say keep them coming.

Album country com pop com rock muito bom, e muito bem produzido.

Pontos Positivos: Back To December, Dear John, The Story Of Us

Pontos Negativos: Letra de Innocent desnecessária... mas é muito boa.

While Taylor still has the stars in her eyes of being a teenage girl, she's also learning some of the hard gritty truths of adulthood, while her songs all sound similar in style and range, her lyrics continue to deepen. She continues to grow and as she does, her music does as well.

Handsomely produced and beautifully written, Speak Now is an all-time high for Taylor Swift -- and country music itself. Its lead single, "Mine", is the perfect track for housewives across the United States, whilst "Back to December" is -- what should be -- the perfect "get back together" track. Beside the singles, the standout track -- which is, in fact, a ballad -- is "Innocent". Although some listeners may call it a "sad publicity track", the lyrics insinuate so much more than a cry for attention.

Overall, Speak Now is not the best album of all-time, but it certainly marks a new high for young Swifts blooming career -- we're finally taking her seriously.

Speak Now is an album that marks the discography of Swift for being an album written without any help. Taylor captures the essence of his relationships and his life as a lesson learned and transforms into music. Each track is different, and makes the album have the enchanting magic that marks this album.

It's an album for all musical tastes, because its versatility makes this effect.

I did not like this album. Besides the songs: Back to December, Mean and Mine, I did not like the other songs. They were not catchy and her range is not exactly helping her out. The lyrics are stupid and not inspirational at all. Too generic to be a good album.

Terrible album, she has no good vocals which isn’t a surprise AT ALL, she’s a terrible singer, performer, dancer, and passes herself around to desperate men who want fame and clout only to get broken up with by them. She’s desperate and lazy.

Taylor Swift took 2 years to write songs that are not even #1 hits. Not saying that the album is utterly horrible, but taking 2 years to write songs that are not even hits on the Billboard 100, save Mine, is too long a time. Taylor doesn't deserve to sell that many albums when her music isn't that nice and mature compared to other singers like Mariah Carey, Eminem, Susan Boyle.

While Taylor turns her wrath on a woman who steals her man on "Better Than Revenge," she turns that critical eye on herself in "Back to December," a thorough apology to a former lover she regrets having left behind. Other tunes, such as "Mean" and "Sparks Fly," suffer from generic and sometimes underdeveloped lyrics.
