  1. Alternative Press
    A great party record, pop-metal to a splendid degree. [Jan 2003, p.84]
  2. Q Magazine
Their best yet. [May 2003, p.102]
  3. Blender
They're like the best party band at the best party you can imagine. [#11, p.130]
  4. Their songs, which at best have the dumb-fun appeal of a Joan Jett hit and at worst are forgettably rote, aren't laments or tirades but empowered commands.
  5. If this disc has a weakness, it's in the somewhat "samey" feel of a couple of the songs, but at just under 40 minutes it's no biggie.
  6. Uncut
Spend The Night emerges as the dumb-riffed album Courtney Love tried to make with Celebrity Skin. [May 2003, p.94]
  7. Make no mistake, Spend the Night defies any post-liberation role reversal debate: The album, both musically and lyrically, is so one-dimensional, it would be equally vapid at the hands of either sex.

The Donnas keep getting better and better. They now sound like a true 70's rock band. More Kiss than The Ramones.

Get their old records. This one is trying too hard; a real disappointment
