  1. Known as much for their rambunctiousness as their literate ways, Steel Train have managed to take all the hallmarks of their sound but pushed them even farther. And yet never once is their sound compromised.
  2. Steel Train is among those bands whose members weaned in the '90s and are now busting out their coming-of-age anthems. The band handles the job well on its new self-titled album, capturing the angst and uncertainty of young adulthood with freshly rendered details.
  3. Not only have Steel Train Shed the jam-band tag with their third, self-titled full-length, they've also finally lived up to their own musical potential. [Aug 2010, p.152]
  4. The best thing about the band is that it's never let any of these influences go--everything it's ever tossed in the sonic pot is still floating around in there and bubbling up to the surface, making the songs welcomingly unpredictable, even when occasional moments feel stale.

The third album from New Jersey's Steel Train is a textbook example of how to use splashy arrangements and high-octane performances to enhance tepid material.

This album is just one amazing song after another. The rhythms are intricate, and every song is catchy (and yes, I mean every one).

personal favorite is Behavior, but I could understand why any other song would be someone else's favorite. They are all incredible. Expand
