MilesJ.Aug 1, 2009The reason to listen to Clutch is for Neil's storytelling. It's okay that they've lost the band members they were accumulating over the last few albums, but the lyrics here are not the group's best. This is a fans-only deal.

Even if it's a little less lively, it's still pretty typical Clutch: always heavy, always solid, and ideal background music for driving a semi-truck through a swamp.

Alternative PressIt's one of their strongest albums, which is saying a lot for a band who've been workhorses for the past two decades. [Aug 2009, p.106]

While the harsher edges of their previous efforts have been sanded off long ago, frontman Neil Fallon still has a bucketload of fire and brimstone left in his belly and no-one does the possessed preacher man schtick quite like him.
