Street Halo shows his commitment to his music both by tweaking it and sticking to the formula. It still makes him capable of bridging the brutal and the delicate. Only experienced crisis negotiators can say that.

With Street Halo, he continues to make beautiful, relevant, completely non-partisan music that stands outside ghettoising genre divides.

Somehow, despite a sound bank that has long since become familiar, Burial keeps finding new ideas to animate his worn, mournful samples.

  1. Four years of silence doesn't matter. Burial remains brilliant. Especially Street Halo is somewhat revitalizing the Burial sound but NYC and Stolen Dog are familiar territory. Nevertheless Street Halo is enlightening and hopefully it gives a clue of the new direction Burial is aiming for. Expand

  2. Maybe the best EP of 2011, both 3 songs are amazing, deep and dark. It sounds like people crying, alone, sadness and rainy, cold days. Is amazing how you can transmit so much feelings with electronic music. Street Halo has a perfect mix of ambient, rhythm and the classic darkness of Burial tracks. Stolen Dog is in my opinion the best song of the EP, is really sad, the sampled vocals, the effects, the echo... While NYC is also an amazing song, perfect for any fan. In conclusion we have a mature Burial, but keeping the darkness we all love. Expand
