Even kids who don’t like rock’n’roll might find this infectious invitation hard to resist.

‘Ain’t No Friend Of Mine’ is a brilliantly snotty two fingers up at the world. There’s no danger of finding the same fault in Street Safari, a record even more loveable than PATV’s first.

Street Safari defies the sophomore slump with another collection of sharply crafted tunes that play like singles. It's a slightly more refined and thoughtful set on average, one that plays like an undergrad to Never Enough's skipping out on summer school, but it still struts and shrugs and keeps cigarettes in its shirt sleeve.

A second album that's brimming with pop hooks and instantly memorable choruses. [Apr 2018, p.96]

In short, the world can never have enough albums like this. Not only have Public Access TV added to the run of great New Wave-tinged pop records of the past few year or so--from Phoenix’ Ti Amo to Spoon’s Hot Thoughts, what they’ve also done is make an album that sounds like the more metropolitan end of New Wave, encompassing disco, punk and 80s pop.

The firm foundation of the songs can be, at times, a little monotonous, a listening experience that not even the more jazzy guitar work can save. That being said, the band still oozes of swanky confidence.
