A compelling listen, and a new side to Doug Paisley.

Strong Feelings sums up the sentiments, but it’s the eloquent execution that makes this so sublime.

Comparatively standard tunes such as To And Fro prevent Strong Feelings from being an unconditional classic, but that's tantamount to dismissing Toronto's CN Tower as a bit pointy. [Feb 2014, p.91]

Musically, Strong Feelings reiterates Constant Companion, which is fine, because it’s a good formula and Paisley’s songs are stronger this time.

Ultimately, this is an album about music's mysterious power.

On Strong Feelings, his third full-length, Paisley’s pointed but oxygenated arrangements allow the best facets of his penmanship to bold-face themselves.

While it doesn't really cover any new ground, Strong Feelings is a very pleasant and enjoyable album from an artist who is clearly a very talented musician. I have positive, strong feelings towards Strong Feelings.
