This is a record with so much swagger, poise and confidence it could have been recorded by a band twice their age.

Farewell to Condale, the ’80s teen-flick soundstage for Summer Camp’s brilliant rom-pop 2011 debut; welcome to the slick ’90s house club of their equally impressive second.

Summer Camp is their second album and it offers another delicious slice of sun-drenched, '80s influenced alt-pop. [Nov-Dec 2013, p.98]

It’s a charming record, but one likely to be appreciated to its fullest only in the dingiest times of the year, those days when you find yourself in need of a reminder of sunnier months just to keep going.

Summer Camp is a tribute to their talents, the duo having ducked the “second album syndrome” so adroitly with this release.

Put Summer Camp in the category of bands that are too good to ignore, but too uneven to truly embrace. Summer Camp is frustrating proof of that sad fact.

In playing it this safe, Summer Camp is just another entry in an increasingly trivial catalog.

Adults can play this album and remember their adolescence with joy and young people can have this as their soundtrack to their ongoing life. "Summer Camp" is simply a record that anyone can identify with. Key tracks are "Crazy", "Fighters", "Phone Call" and "Pink Summer". Collapse
