Ok. This is for me the album of the year so far. Give it a few listens and I'm sure that it will reward you. At last something different. And it's sure better than Gypsy Punks which was an amazing album.

I have been hooked on this band since I saw them in an ex-polka hall on the East Side of Cleveland. Now they are a bigger deal playing bigger halls and they have not lost a bit of their fan-friendly showmanship nor has lead singer Hutz lost his political edge or partying glee. This album doesn't reinvent their sound and that is a good thing. Bring on more gigs! This album is flat out fantastic. I knew of "Start wearing purple" from some years ago. That's all I had heard from these guys. Until this album came along and just blew me away. So, I grabbed my towel but I had to play one more song to keep fresh in mind, for my activity in the stall of cascading chlorinated tapwater. It did not work out. I sat there and played the album thru twice more with a towel over my shoulders. I love it with wonderlust, and I've gotta see these guys live. Expand

Fun, energy, melody. American Wedding is the best music ever. ST! is the best Gogol Bordello's album so far.

This is the best Gogol Bordello album to date. While Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike had some of their best songs, this has a more raw, yet cohesive sound. Both are great albums and I recommend both. Highlights of the album include Ultimate, Wonderlust King, Forces Of Victory and American Wedding.

These guys are kind of a one trick pony. "American Wedding" is a fun track, but the rest of the album pretty much blends together. Not a lot of variety here. Still a unique sound worthy of a listen.

Probably one of my favourite albums. It's so unique and full of life. Super Taranta! is an atom-bomb of energy with some amazing and blood-pumpingly enjoyable songs.

  1. Super Taranta! is the culmination of superb musicianship, endless energy, and an inborn sense of fun and a dedication to progression and innovation, and if that's not something to celebrate and dance to, it's hard to know what is.
  2. On this album, GB make the Dead Kennedys seem subtle. And it would be nice if there were more variety to their sound.
  3. Imagine the B-52's playing a wedding in Siberia and you'll have a loose idea of what's in store on these 14 tracks.
