Solar Bears never sound like they’re blatantly ripping anyone off, but there are too many echoes of other band’s sounds floating around in the mix to make it sound truly like something that is theirs and theirs alone.

Supermigration never quite brings these directions--Air, Lindstrom, Neu!--together though; instead of fermenting their own sound, Solar Bears end up falling into the space in between them. [May 2013, p.66]

For all of John Kowalski and Rian Trench’s accomplished textures and impressive ’80s sci-fi sheen, it’s these [songs "Happiness Is A Warm Spacestation" and "A Sky Darkly"] simmering, slow burning heavyweights that give Supermigration the thunder it needs.

Most of the album feels too much like a work-in-progress.
