    Seriously, what's with Rihanna and not making a real album? Same thing as "Loud": the singles are phenomenal, but the rest of the tracks are very mediocre and disappointing. Why can't she put the same energy on all the songs? Is that hard? I don't get it. They have no reply value, they are basic, repetitive and in some cases weird (what was she trying to achieve with "Cockiness").

    With some of her biggest songs Talk that Talk first for songs are frankly the best part of the album. A top heavy ccompilation of potential hits rather than an actual album. Rihanna 6th studio album still finds her directionless

    Rihanna showed us with this work that she is an excellent trend maker, in addition to the greatest hitmaker. Talk That Talk will always be the reference of the EDM.

    Para mim tinha tudo para ser o álbum mais aclamado da carreira da Rihanna. Porém a divulgação do álbum como um todo não foi das melhores, exceto para "We Found Love"...

    It's not her best one but it's not that bad. It mostly has a dance sound. My favorites are You Da One, Where Have You Been and We Found Love.

    On Rihanna's sixth studio album, she seems to try and repeat what was done on her previous project by giving us nothing lyrically and trying to wow us with production and vocal value. Now this does work for parts of the record, but some of the songs are too repetitive and leave you with a bad taste in your ears. Now that isn't to say this album doesn't have some bangers.     So "Talk That Talk" was supposed to be a reissue of Rihanna's previous album "Loud" (2010). It was also recorded during the Loud Tour. I‘m glad that she decided to release a completely new album as the songs don’t sound like "Loud" at all and because it’s just too good. On this album, Rihanna experiments with hip-hop, dubstep, electronic and house music and there are traces of dancehallSo "Talk That Talk" was supposed to be a reissue of Rihanna's previous album "Loud" (2010). On this album, Rihanna experiments with hip-hop, dubstep, electronic and house music and there are traces of dancehall music here and there. THE highlight of the album is "Roc Me Out". It’s very synth heavy and you just have to dance to it. The title track featuring Jay-Z is another highlight on here. "Red Lipstick" deserved to be so much more than just a bonus track on the deluxe edition. It’s a badass dubstep song and reminds me of Rihanna's fourth studio album "Rated R" (2009), which isn’t surprising since the song's producers also worked with her on that album. The hip-hop tracks "Birthday Cake" and "Cockiness (Love It)" have to be pointed out as well. I really wish BC would be longer. 1 minute of that bop just isn’t enough. The single's "You Da One", "We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been" are some of the more poppy songs on this record. They all are dance pop songs and YDO has a dubstep breakdown. "Farewell" is one of the most emotional song on here and one of the best out of the midtempo/ballad songs in my opinion. THE best however, is definitely the last track on the album "Fool in Love". The lyrics remind me of Britney's "Criminal" which was also released in 2011 but damn the emotions and her vocals in this song are everything! Great way to end the album. Even though it was recorded within only a few months, was intended to be a reissue and recorded during a lot of tour stress, "Talk That Talk" turned out to be a great pop album. It’s fun to listen to and actually pretty diverse. It switches from danceable pop songs, to badass hip-hop tracks, to emotional mid-tempo tracks. It’s one of Riri's best albums.     In a maturing by time, she seems to have more control of her voice and something special that captivates everyone who listens to the album. This is better than Loud, it's more cohesive and conscious. That takes its sasst part and also vocals at high points, but still sins in tiresome choruses and still in its beats that looks the same.     Overall this is a solid album, at least all of the album tracks are better than just decent, and its lead single was one of Rihanna's best.

    Talk That Talk is the album that is quite obviously a growing stage from her older and less meaningful but easy to listen to work, to her new experimental yet enjoyable work. This album happens to be split between good matured music and filler stuff you only play once and regret listening to.

    4. Talk That Talk ft. JAY Z, this song is too catchy and fun to hate 9/10
    5. Cockiness (Love It), this is just a silly song that isn't as good as the remix 7/10
    6. Birthday Cake, the remix saved the song its not as good without it 7/10
    7. We All Want Love, its just a phase for Rihanna she grew out of this 4/10
    8. Drunk On Love, its a skip 3/10
    9. Roc Me Out, the rare Rihanna hit i dislike and dislike listening to its so generic 3/10
    10. Watch n' Learn, it belongs on the Rated R deleted songs list its that bad 1/10
    11. Farewell, ok bye... never mind i have to suffer through more awkward Rihanna phase music 2/10
    12. Red Lipstick, this is not bad but the remix was better 6/10

    Overall: 5.93 (rounded up to 6) I'm not a fan of this album but i do love Rihanna. This album would have worked great as a 6 song EP to hold over her fans for the amazing unofficial sequel, Unapologetic. it has my all time favorite Rihanna song We Found Love so i respect it... i just don't like it as a whole.    … Expand

    This album was Rihanna at her best. One of her best eras had finished (i.e. the Loud era), and then BOOM, she returned with the career-defining We Found Love which also propelled Calvin Harris into superstardom. The singles of this album are great, Where Have You Been is definitely one of Rihanna's best singles.

    There's no denying that Rihanna is trying, and to some extent is successful. We Found Love is by far the best track on this album and one of her best songs. But you can't help but think how she has the audacity to sing a duet about doing it with her boyfriend that beat her up. That is some birthday cake that I have never heard of.

    Aside from a few hit singles, Talk That Talk is probably one of Rihanna's least memorable albums. It doesn't have as many infectious hooks as Loud or Rated R, but it's still a pretty enjoyable album nevertheless. I can listen to the whole thing (bonus tracks included) without wanting to skip any songs, so I have to give her credit for that. Also, her vocals are pretty fantastic here, as always.

I like Rihanna's experimentation with different genres ("Cockiness"), while also paying homage to her original reggae style ("Watch n Learn"). There are a few slow Chris Brown Fortune-esqueA few years ago I would listen to this album almost everyday and eventually get sick of it. However, the album is a generally great effort from Rihanna. In my opinion, this was better than Loud. I like Rihanna's experimentation with different genres ("Cockiness"), while also paying homage to her original reggae style ("Watch n Learn"). There are a few slow Chris Brown Fortune-esque ballads, specifically "Farewell" (even though that album came after this one) but not enough to make this the disappointing album that Fortune was. Plus her ballads are better. There are also some repetitive dance songs, but overall, I'd have to say this is one of Rihanna's best. Grade: B.     It's good. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but it's still one of Rihanna's best albums. I think the best tracks are "Talk That Talk", "Red Lipstick", and "Roc Me Out."

It's catchy and solid but there are better productions like "Drunk on Love" or above-mentioned "Farewell" for instance.

    While "Rated R was a dark, emotional "ChrisBrownRecovery" album and "Loud" was a big, red chart-devouring machine, "Talk That Talk" didn't have it's own "personality". It's just a collection of songs that can become another #1 hit. Sorry, I should say COULD be a big hits if ti would be promoted properly. Besides that, there's still a good R&B album here. Some of the highlights are: amazing Rihanna's vocals on "Drunk On Love", dark and sexy "Red Lipstick", sweet love song "Do Ya Thang", vulnerable rhapsody "Fool In Love" and a great power ballad "Farewell".

    I'm starting to doubt if Rihanna has any talent left. She started out so great and sensational, but where has all of that gone? Every song is drowned in autotune and many don't stand out very much, other than "Where Have You Been" and "We Found Love."

    The Bestest Album of 2012 , in my opinion. Its difersificate, and remenber the eras LOUD and RATED R. In the first time , i doesn't like **** (Track 5) And Watch N Learn (Track 10) , but now i just hate Watch N Learn. Drunk On Love, Farewell and We All Want Love SHOULD be singles. Love this album , and my note to this is 9.

    I couldn't ever compare it to the overshadowing pop perfection that is "Good Girl Gone Bad" or her dark masterpiece "Rated R", but Rihanna puts out an album that's better than Loud. Minus the generic "We All Want Love", "Drunk on Love" and "Roc Me Out" tracks, this record is stunning - though rushed.

    Talk That Talk sounds rushed and has a lack of creativity. The songs sound very basic and Rihanna sounds like she's tired. Talk That Talk lacks the energy that her previous albums have. The best songs are on the deluxe edition.

    I love Rihanna but this is not my favorite album of hers. Rated R was amazing and Loud did not disappoint, this fell short. It was kinda obvious it was rushed and her vocals are good but a bit untouched. Best tracks on the album are "Where Have You Been", "We Found Love" & "Drunk On Love". songs like "Farewell" and "TTT" made me done with the album. but the album as a whole is just solid.

    i really enjoy listening to Rihanna, but ever since Rated R her songs or poorly done. every song is basically a chorus.... with maybe 4 bars in between. distrubia is one of my favorite songs because it shows what she can do. don't get me wrong the songs are great but, i would like to hear more bars not just the chorus 3 times then the next song.

    Another fabulous job from Rihanna, it's her third album in three years in a row. It contains many lovely songs such as "Talk That Talk", "Where Have You Been" and "Roc Me Out", with powerful beat and great music in general. Is this an evolution of a "superstar" Rihanna to a "legend" Rihanna? Maybe. But for sure it's an excellent success of her previous album "Loud".

    The new album's awesome, new kind of music for Rihanna. You Da One, Talk That Talk, We Found Love, awesome songs. Another great album from Rihanna, you can't hate on it honestly speaking. Its R&B, who hates R&B? If you hate R&B well, you'll love Talk That Talk still.

Jay-Z'r rap, even bringing a gangsta flavor to the album, is one of the worst parts of the 37:29 listening party. Rihanna shows us her dark side, reminiscent of "Rated R" era, two years ago. The "Give it to me baby" part is probably the most listenable sequence of the song. "Cockiness (Love It)" may seem an empowering song. Well, it is not. Another gangsta number, in which Rihanna ,sassy, makes the listener to "Suck her cockiness and lick her persuasion." which is a quit interesting wordplay. The "Birthday Cake" interlude is one of the album's highlights, very short thought. It opens mediocre but ends up with a "It's not even my birthday" satisfying line. The singer is totally teasing us with this track. "We All Want Love" and "Drunk on Love" are dance-able romantic tracks, getting Rihanna confessing her "hopeless romantic" side. We see a more vulnerable Rihanna, first time since the 2000s. "Roc me Out" is an urban track reminiscent of "Rude Boy". We can also notice a dark-rock shade over this track. The next track, "Watch'n'Learn" is as sexier and edgier as most of the others. With more Caribbean accents it travels us back to last November, when "Loud" was released containing "Raining Men", "What's My Name" or "Man Down". The closing number is definitely the best song on "Talk That Talk". "Farewell" is maybe the prequel to "California King Bed". Rihanna says goodbye to her lover, hoping he will make a better life somewhere else. A down-tempo rocky power ballad, it is a great ending for Rihanna's latest album. All in all, this album is worth it listening to, track-by-track containing catchy tunes and partying themes, it is clearly Rihanna's brightest to date.… Expand

    this album is a step down from 'Loud', in my opinion, which had a bit more variety. 'Talk That Talk' seems rushed and reaching for a spot that it never fully hits. the only songs I really love are "We Found Love", "Drunk On Love" and "Where Have You Been". Rihanna's voice suits the techno-thumping beats. I just wish she'd stop with the sexual metaphors already.

Congrats to Rihanna for getting Album of the Year nods for her last album, Loud. This album is better than Loud. It's much edgier and harder. I love this album and you will too.

    A great fun album. A Continuation of LOUD with a little bit of that Rated R edge thrown in there. It's weird to think that some strangerbetch from 2005 has been killing it every year! The album is sooooo good! Best songs are 'We Found Love,' 'Where Have You Been?,' and "We All Want Love." Beautiful!

    I heard Rihanna's stans talk about this album being hot hot! So I checked it out ya know. IT'S HOT HOT. That cake cake song is hot. Fire. Thee's some pop songs. There's some ghetto as hell songs too which i love. It's a great album. BEst of the year!

    So called "princess of pop" would be wise to stick to one genre, instead of multi-dipping in electronic rave from Harris, less-then-unoriginal teary ballads and reggae rhythms. I wish I could support her bipolar attempt to rule all kinds of dancefloors, but I simply don't seem to be able to follow her.

    It's sure to sell on brand recognition alone, but I doubt a series of mannered and soulless hooks are going to find much life outside of the European remix circuit.
