    With 33 tracks in 42 minutes (each averages around one minute), the four-piece is anarchic and weird, yet -- best of all -- still strangely maintains a certain charm.

    Unless you're fifteen and were raised with a mouse constantly in hand, the Mae Shi can get overwhelming... but their saving graces (lots of genuine energy, naming their songs things like "Hieronymus Bosch is a Dead Man") charm you into liking them.

    The Mae-shi are not only talented musicians but also some of the nicest guys ever. They put on an extremly entertaining live show you will never forget.… Expand

    wow. i can't believe this homage to the New York No Wave scene is passing off as "ground breaking." Last I heard, incessant pants and 3 not motifs over a driving rhythm section constituted as crap...and just noise. aesthetic is dead.… Expand
