  1. What's revealed is what's often been outshone by the originals: the sheer quality of the songwriting and vocals.

Locomotion didn't need to be turned into a girl-group pastiche, and Flower muscles in on Adele's brawny ballad territory. These aside, an imaginative addition to the Minogue catalogue.

Re-recording one's old songs in an older style isn't a revolutionary manoeuvre.... Kylie's addition to the tradition is also a fairly mixed bag.

Only the Bond-esque 'Confide In Me' is worthwhile in an otherwise sorry array of pop bangers left soggy on the barbecue.

An outstanding project which sheds light on something that hasn't been dominant in Kylie's music before: deeper emotions. The most surprising takes are on the early singles: the sadness and seriousness of the songs were often drowned by the sugary pop-cover of PWL production, but on 'The Abbey Road Sessions', they are able to shine in all their glory.
Notable: 'Better The Devil You Know', 'Hand On Your Heart', 'Confide In Me', 'Slow', 'Locomotion', 'Never Too Late'.

  2. "Though, after a while, the album does sound repetitive with its same orchestral style, it does present a trademark album to Kylie, showing that Kylie won't be hanging up her goldpants any time soon." Expand
  3. The original songs out shined the lyrics, vocals and some of the most important aspects of the songs. Here she is stripped back and showing everyone what she meant. It's very good musically, but some may be concerned her vocals are too weak for this project. BUT the thing is, buying this... You should at least know what you in for. Soft vocals, beautiful songs.
