The Beginning is a severely underrated project from The Black Eyed Peas; one of their albums to date. However, Fergie didn't seem to be part of the group for much of the album, and she seems to only sing the chorus or the bridge. Where is Rapper Fergie?

This is definitely a step down from their last album with dodgy songs like 'Love you long time,' but there's still a fair few banging tunes that really get your body moving. When the songs are great they're great, but some are just plain mediocre. Oh well, you can't win every time. I'm sure they'll be back at some point with something magical. I have faith.

Although not their strongest, I believe this is till a good album. I hate music like this, but I love the Peas. The ultimate dance track with the best beat I have ever heard is on here with Don't Stop The Party. That, The Time, and Just Can't Get Enough are memorable songs. The rest however, are quite forgettable.

Well, it's not the best Black Eyed Peas album yet. But with it's incredible auto-tuning vocals and thumping beats coming through your eardrums, "The Beginning" was one of my favorite and steady albums of 2010. I definitely love "Time of My Life (Dirty Bit)" and "Just Can't Get Enough." I saw the video and it was so emotional and amazing on making the video sending a positive message to help save the innocent victims from the events of the horrific Earthquake in Japan last March. All of the songs were great. The one song I have to buy on Itunes right now was their 3rd single, "Don't Stop the Party."
Turning up a mixture of the gay community, this is the album I have to get. Great album, not that great since 2009's "The E.N.D." Just a phenomenal dance mix.

I thought this album was alright it didnt have much meaning to it like the last album they brought out (The E.N.D.) and its a big downer that they werent able to make great songs like in the last album.
they really changed from hip hop to a bit of techno for a change ,i really liked the song "Someday" it has some meaning to me.
This album wasnt very good to be honest i wish they went

It's rare that I listen to an album and I am amazed at the production and catchiness of EVERY track. This is essentially a greatest-hits album. Each track has the potential to be a single. This electro/dance stuff is what's popular now. The music is creative and well-produced, the lyrics are somewhat commercial, but it's simple and it makes sense. And it provokes emotions. They stray away from their roots in hip-hop, but I'm more of a fan now because of this album. After listening to The E.N.D. album from 2009, you could expect that the following album would be more of a euro/electro/dance punch in the butt. I think less of The E.N.D. for not being more of a euro/electro/dance punch in the butt. The Beginning is an AMAZING album, its very near to perfect. This has music lovers and tons of appreciative fans coming back for more and more Black Eyes Peas albums like the â

I wonder if people ever even read reviews, and then read other people's critiques, I doubt that they ever condescend against the Black Eyed peas, You people obviously need to see the line between grading someones music and just pure bad-mouthing them, its bad music? I'm mad more than anyone about BEP's electric turn. But, Dirty Bit, Do It Like This, Someday, XOXOXO, Don't Stop The Party, and Turn It Up are great club bangers. Worst BEP album. But, honestly, I'd take that as a compliment.

As is always expected, an album full of funny lyrics with the personal touch of the group, good use of sample, you may not understand much at first, but after the second it's hard to want change, they didn't innovate, but left clearer that can be good in any style. First time I heard it I could not understand the album, I was kind of disappointed, but then I started to listen again and again, I know I can not stop. It's a fantastic dance mature album, I think is fresh and well thought, and pretty fun. I disagree with people who do not enjoy music and because they keep the first impression they are close to a new chance. GOOD STUFF!! Expand

We all know the Black Eyed Peas for the hitmakers that they are. The last album "The E.N.D." was a big success and contributed to the many good time memorizes that are created in the night life scene. Now "The Beginning" is a good album, but not their "best". However, there many people rejecting this new album for many reasons, yet the biggest reason is "horrible music". Now this is just an opinion, that I do not share, all of the songs on this album are far from horrible. It's a different sound than that of the previous album, but then again every album from the BEP's is different and unique. This new album has a old school feel yet mixed with modern grooves. That is what makes this album great, the mastery in mixing two decades of musical cultures into one album. That alone might even inspire other artist to follow right behind. Now moving on to the review of the songs that make this album a success. The most amazing, moving and capturing track that is sure to make the club jumping and moving is "The Time (Dirty Beat)". As the beginning of the track mentions, I must agree that this is an international beat MEGA radio smasher. From personal experience I cannot tell you how times I seen this song get the party started and grooving. When this track starts the people go wild and then you know, "This is going to be a good night". But what makes this track so good? Well other than the catchiness this tune presents, the lyrics is what gives this song its ultimate magical power. The next track "Light Up The Night" is a good follow-up to the album starter. This song has a great overall feel yet what really makes you feel good is the lyric " It's on and popping and we ain't stopping, let's light up the night" that is really powerful and captivating. Then comes the harmony and melody of "Love You Long Time" which has a calming effect on the body and wonderful feel. This track is a good, but not a club mover yet more of a pre-night time starter. The another track worth mentioning is "Someday", now track is more of a motivational tune and lifter. It is really catchy with the guitar lick incorporated into the fabric of the tune which contains a great beat that makes your head move. All of the other tracks on this album contain great beats and catchiness that finishes the album. According to Entertainment weekly writer Simon Vozick-Levinson, "Every song is piled high with sticky pop melodies, slick hip-hop rhythms, bright synth parts, and vocals that have been diced and processed to high heaven, all furthering the goal of maximum catchiness." I usually don't mention other writers but he has a point and conveys what I think of the music on this album perfectly. On a last note this album continues to expand the Fergie era and let me tell you, it is great! Expand

I have to disagree with what seems to be the majority of reviews associated with this album. The album receives attacks addressing its cheesy demeanor. Thats the black eyed peas, if you've listened to any other track off this album, you'd notice that their brilliant cheese is very common. It's hard to distinguish which songs will become singles, since the whole album feels like one. TheI have to disagree with what seems to be the majority of reviews associated with this album. It's hard to distinguish which songs will become singles, since the whole album feels like one. The constant nagging on how the black eyed peas have lost their soul with Fergie and mainstream attention is prime example of opinion conformity. They've merely addressed what mainstream music craves. Delicious beats that literally force your body to get up and start dancing. While you're dancing you feel the words. This album is really good; I love the tech no sounds to the songs. I like The E.n.d better but this one still rocks. Even though this album doesn't have songs like imma be and i got a feeling , it still has a nice feel to it. This is another hit album for BEP. This album has just about every genre. It has pop dance techno electro hip r&b soul and rock. BEP fans are going love this album.

Simply put, this album suffers from Beyonce syndrome--it does nothing to further the group's catalogue. Last time around, the Black Eyed Peas were exploring new territory, and the results were contagious. Now, it seems as though the group, particularly will.i.am, is stuck on auto-pilot.

Although the overall plot of the album is sparse, it's hard to deny the enjoyment it can bring to you. If you know what to expect when you hear it, you can take The Beginning for what it is: a feel good album.
