willJJul 5, 200910Amazing. Pure genius. The best album of the decade and the best band to emerge in the past twenty years.
-
-
Nov 26, 201110Amazing album with dark and deep lyrics that live up to MCR's "emo" label but it also has that fast pased exciting rebellious punk sound that makes the dark theme of The Black Parade come alive. Possibly my favorite MCR album.
-
JordanNov 1, 200610After their 2004 hit "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge", My Chemical Romance return with one of the best albums of the year. Who says a story of a dying boy cant be enjoyable? It is uplifting, ambitious and ingenius. Download: "Disenchanted", "Teenagers", and "Famous Last Words"
-
-
Dec 16, 20119Unique, catchy, and still staying true to their style many have loved since they began. Their songs are meaningful, sombre, and written and performed to perfection.
-
emonNov 1, 20067Im a MCR fan ,just being honest this album is pretty good but compared to 3 cheers wich was friggn awsome!I feel there are to many slow songs ,it took me a good 4 plays to get used to this one.

-
AmbrosiaTOct 25, 200610Excellent album..one of the best I've heard in years. MCR doesn't fall into any one category. They are a truly talented band!
-
-
WayneUOct 25, 20060They cite Queen and System of a Down as influences on the new album and people relate it to "American Idiot", its just too bad that this pop punk orchestral pretentious record is nothing more than a band's desperate attempt at mediocrity.

JosephT.May 9, 20078HELLO PEOPLE!!! JUST BECAUSE AN ALBUM STRIKES YOUR FANCY DOESN'T MEAN IT DESERVES A '10' -- TRY TO BE MORE ACCURATE TO YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND TRY TO GIVE SOME ALBUMS '7' '8' or EVEN '9' AND SAVE YOUR '10s' FOR SOMETHING TRULY INGENIOUS, OK?

-
-
NickMNov 6, 20063Over produced and underthought. MCR hyped up this album in their interviews and from the title it sounded like it would be a darker album, a heavier album. I tried to sit through at least one of the songs but couldn't due to poor guitar tone and seemingly half ass musical compositions.

-
-
GuyHOct 24, 20060Ok - I'm only reviewing the single but if that is any indication of the 'quality' to be found on this disc then it deserves a screeching, flouncy, unimaginative, soulless ZERO!
-
-
JohnDOct 24, 20067It's likeable and fun. Doesn't deserve a 9, nor does it deserve a 2.
-
-
steveOct 25, 20060Well said, Todd W. It's amazing, how derivative, uninventive and plain boring pop music has become. By all appearences, today's youth hasn't got one original idea musically, and doesn't call for one either. Pitiful pretension all over the place, the single authentic message being: "I'm a product, buy me, I'm just as dumb as you. "
-
-
FrankTOct 25, 200610I don't want to like MCR, and I've never been moved to listen to them, but I gave "Welcome to the Black Parade" a spin and was floored. Bought the record and it's really impressive. Just a GREAT album.
-
-
EnriqueROct 25, 200610Wow! An excellent album by My Chemical Romance! It's pure rock n roll from the first to the last song! It must be the best record of the year for sure...and Liza Minelli sings on "Mama"! No more words... Simply great...
-
-
DubyaUOct 25, 20060Want artsy and exciting music with high pitch vocals and screamies? Stick to the Blood Brothers, this rubbish is nothing but a new CD for the kiddies to pick up cause it's "cool." The can posture and look as odd as they like, but they aren't good enough to back it up musically.
-
-
JesseSOct 25, 200610What a surprise--I barely noticed this band before. Exhileratingly creepy. Negative reviews tend to snub theatricality. Like there's something very uncool about it. Maybe there is.
-
-
DeanLOct 25, 20069This is the album Green Day SHOULD have made...
-
-
nickcDec 6, 20061Generic pop-screamo. Copletely unlistenable, regurgitated grabage. Why one would suffer to listen to this agonizingly empty vapid band is quite beyond me. Ridiculous overproduction and Pro-Tools don't make a good album. A bad singer with auto-tune is still a bad singer. Scream/sing/scream/sing= Lame/Lame. Listen to the Used or the Killers for more of the same.
-
-
JoelOct 26, 20061Nothing new here, mall punk with annoying Queen style rock.
-
-
CollieFOct 27, 200610very good disc. i am still baffled why people call them emo.
-
-
JoeMOct 28, 20064Call it their American Idiot if you like but that was a hugely over-rated waste of time as well. For all the effort that goes into costume, make up and image - the music and lyrics are hollow and overly dramatic. At one point I thought this band had a little potential. This album suggests otherwise.
-
-
VivienneMOct 29, 200610
-
-
PeteSOct 30, 20068Not as good as "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge", but still a great album once it gets stuck in your head. Best tracks: "How I Disappear" and "House of Wolves".
-
-
RyanGJan 2, 20078When I was at Hot Topic, I really had low hopes for this album due to the other ones. To my suprise, I was suprised! I enjoyed ALMOST every song, except House of Wolves
-
-
ShainaBJan 20, 200710The Black Parade is a great CD! I love how there is a story told throughout the CD. I can listen to the CD all day!
-
-
JenDec 3, 20075The first thing I thought of when I finished listening to this album was, so this is what Marilyn Manson would sound like if he was playing at the mall. Sure, there are some catchy tunes here. And these guys aren't all whiny like most of the bands adolescent boys are into these days, they actually have a bit of a sense of humor and fun. But they are most certainly Manson-lite.

-
SelCJan 4, 20078I love this album but i think they aren't as good as they used to be and their introductions are way to long. Most of the tracks are all good though i love 'Teenagers' and 'The sharpest lives'.
-
-
DanielRJan 9, 20074really wish they'd put out something more like their debut 'bullets'... this album has a real generic feel to it, recycling what's been and gone. Still admire the band tho...

HeatherBApr 20, 20079I love this album, not as much as their 1st..but its brilliant. Gerards voice is amazing, everything about MCR works perfectly.
-
-
whateverJun 11, 20070The Observer review says all. Unimaginative, uncreative and plain boring. The world didn't need a band covering/riping-off "The Wall" or "Sgt. Pepper's" for the millionth time... specially one with annoying emo kids... PS: Stop tagging this as alternative rock!!!
-
-
a.l.Jun 5, 20079i love them im a new fan but it brings me tears how much they've changed. i love the morbid lyrics and wild instrimentals of three cheers and bullets. not even kidding im tearing. but tBP is great too. I WILL OVE MCR TO THE END in my last dying breath ill be singing one of their songs.

rotten777Mar 10, 20081Pathetic fashion rock playing to the minds of young teens and guys who think its ok to wear makeup. Songwriting is terrible. The execution is terrible and typical of something you'd see on MTV.

AlliecNov 14, 200610Such an amazing record, each song has such meaning behind it, it's empowering and opens your eyes to such things. A Great listen for those long bus rides, gives you a chance to think about each song.
-
-
ErikaCNov 14, 200610The Black Parade is the best of bolth bullets and revenge. This album stands out because, the lyrics are somewhat gloomy while still making the person who is listing to it feel optimistic. The amazing instrumental in the songs are marvelous, mixed with the vocals it is one of their most amazing albums ever.
-
-
LauraFNov 2, 200610I love My Chemical Romance. Especially The Black Parade
-
-
EllieGNov 20, 200610A genius CD, with undertones of Pink Floyd and Queen. Every song tells part of the story. Addicting and haunting, a must-buy.

-
billymNov 9, 20062this record sucks. anyone born before 1990 should pretty much understand that. if you want something like this, try green day or something, they're at least not so total douche whiny puss styles.....it's kinda like if you had some cheeseball metal singer from the 80s totally scream-complaining about stuff and posing down with like Everclear as the super sweet back up band. or something.
-
-
ra'quaylecNov 9, 200610God!! you are all idiots if you can't see that mcr is oh so fucking real than you are a fucking dumbass and need to get your fucking brains checked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
-
JohnnyTDec 10, 20061I don't get it. I saw these guys play in a garage two years ago and a year later they're number one on TRL. We've all seen where this goes. The Baha Men, anyone? But instead of retiring to the used bin like the boys from Jamaica, MCR somehow still get people to buy into this crap.
-
-
FredDec 14, 20060this album was such a huge letdown, the singing is soooo boring and most of the tunes are iritating, this album will never touch the awsomeness of MCRs"I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" P.S i dident say all that cuase i dont like emo music, cuase i do... but this album is awful
-
-

JamesJOct 24, 200610MCR have made one amazing album here. Pure sonic joy in all of its absurd and over the top brilliance. One of the top 3 albums this year.
-
-
kirstyhOct 24, 200610i think this is a very good album and it should be number 1 on the charts
-
-
JohnB.Oct 24, 20069Reminiscent of Green Day's "American Idiot," but more ambitious. It overreaches itself at times, but overall an excellent record.
-
-
LouDec 5, 20064Anyone else think these guys sound like Styx meets Dashboard Confessional?? Its Arena meets Emo. I dub this new genre - Arenamo!!
-
-
FreddyFOct 25, 200610CLASSIC album. They have far reached what I think anyone thought they could do. TEENAGERS and MAMA are instant classics. Who ever gives it a 2 definitely hasn't heard or given the album a chance and is just biased against the bands for no reason, except for being a critical D*ck. Pretty much discredits them. This album is a MUST PICK UP!!!!! I applaude MCR vision.
-
-
rafaelasOct 25, 200610its a very good album!!!
-
-
JulesEOct 25, 20064Just what we needed - meatloaf meets green day. I read an interview with MCR and they namedropped Rocky Horror as major influence - now if only they had more Dr Franfenfurter and less meatloaf...either way the whole 'new generational music' tag from Los Angeles Times is laughable or perhaps just sad
-

nickmOct 25, 20069who ever thinks this is crap is thinking too hard, not everything has to be refered back to your glory days
-
-
TomHOct 25, 20060Sorry bout being a old school MCR fan i was really hoping to see more punk sound from them cos i heard they were completely changing their sound but didnt realize they'd do a damn britney spears on us and produce nothing but pure pop trash. This album could quite possibly be the worst album of the year, even the lead singer sounds more gay
-
-
80The most bonkers album of the year, but one of the best.
-
The Black Parade is MCR's whole raison d'etre rolled up into one mega-decibel calling card. [Nov 2006, p.179]
-
90They've created the Sgt. Pepper of screamo.
